1. Introduction

Masjid Explorer is operated by Masjid Explorer Corp. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using the app or website, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Data We Collect

Account data: your authentication ID and display name. Check-in records: mosque ID, timestamp, and coordinates at the time of check-in. Location: used in real-time to find nearby mosques and validate check-ins. We do not store or track your location in the background.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your data under GDPR Article 6: (a) contractual necessity, to provide check-in tracking, streaks, badges, and leaderboard features; (b) legitimate interest, to maintain service quality and prevent abuse.

4. Third-Party Services

Supabase: database hosting and authentication (EU servers). Aladhan API: prayer time calculations (no personal data sent). Plausible Analytics: privacy-friendly website analytics on our site only (no cookies, no personal data). The iOS app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and no advertising network is used.

5. Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in the European Union. Data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed.

6. Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the right to: access your personal data, rectify inaccurate data, erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), data portability, object to processing, and restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@masjid-explorer.com.

7. Children's Privacy

Masjid Explorer is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies or collect personal data. The iOS app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK and no advertising SDK, collects no advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across apps or websites, so it never presents an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

9. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and immediate. We do not retain any data after deletion.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
